If you wish to truly understand
vyrd (wyrd) then this book is an absolute must. The down side, if this book
could be said to have a down side, is that unless you have at least somewhat
of a scholarly bent, there are portions of the book that will be extremely difficult
to get through. This is a serious scholarly examination of the Germanic conception
of world/time. It really would do the book a disservice to try to cover the
concepts covered in a such a short article as this so I will not do so. Instead
I will say that if you are a leader in Heithni, you need to get this book and
read it. You need to read it until you understand it. A book like this bears
several readings and this will not be the last time I read it. There is an amazing
amount of knowledge here and one reading is unlikely to be enough to absorb
it all. Unfortunately this book is long out of print, though we do have a link
to a reprinting service that offers it. (See our annotated
bibliography). If you can get a copy of this book, GET IT.
