Nordic Roots is a compilation cd with 20 tracks from various artists on the Northside music label. This is a whole fistful of music from what is being called the Nordic Roots music movement: Scandinavian Folk music with modern influences. That is not to say that there are not more traditional Folk songs here because there most certainly is. Though you will find a wide range of styles that range from more modern sounding progressive rock sounds to traditional Folk, all the music here has the stamp of Folk music on it. So if you like Folk music, you are almost certain to like this CD. As with Nordic Roots 2, this CD is “Cheaper Than Food” at $3. Yes that is correct. That is not a typo. Neither is this CD guilty of poor production quality. It is about as well produced as any other CD I have in my collection. So while I liked Nordic Roots 2 better, Nordic Roots is still a darn good CD and at $3 the question, again, is, why don't you have it already?
