This booklet (48 pages) has a fairly good introduction to Norse lore and heroic legend by one of the most acknowledged scholars of Norse lore, John Lindow. The text is generously illustrated with many line drawings of Viking art, some examples that are not normally found in other publications. The text itself really would form nothing more than an introduction to any book on Northern lore so it is the artwork itself that the book is useful for in my opinion. Any artist interested in producing authentic style Viking art work will find much of use in the illustrations for this booklet. If you are not interested in examples of Viking style artwork, your money might be better spent elsewhere. If, however, you are interested in Viking art, then this book is worth the purchase.
