Chapter 39
Maðr hét Garðarr Svavarsson, sœnskr at ætt; hann fór at leita Snælands at tilvísun móður sínnar framsýnnar; hann kom at landi fyrir austan Horn et eystra; þar var þá höfn. Garðarr sigldi umhverfis landit, ok vissi at þat var eyland. Hann var um vetr einn norðr í Húsavik á Skjálfanda ok gørði þar hús. Um várit, er hann var búinn til hafs, sleit frá honum mann á báti, er hét Náttfari, ok þræll ok ambátt. Hann bygði þar síðan er heitir Náttfaravík. Garðarr fór þá til Noregs ok lofaði mjök landit. Hann var faðir Una, föður Hróars Tungugoða. Eftir þat var landit kallat Garðarshólmr, ok var þá skógr milli fjalls ok fjöru.
